Sunrise worth waiting for!

Last night I started the jigsaw of an old map or the area that I had for Christmas. Finished the edges and started selecting pieces to begin the picture. I have done a bit more today but will leave more pictures until it is done. The guide picture is quite small, I have been using a magnifying glass to check the small writing!
This morning I managed to be out of the house by seven and made my way to the leisure centre. I had bought a voucher for a months membership before Christmas. It is a really lovely pool, with good changing facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Only a handful of us in the pool, and not the silly lane swimming that they preferred in Scarborough. I only did ten lengths, as it is quite a few months since I faced a full sized swimming pool! When I came out of the centre I got to see the sunrise, and boy,  it was a beauty!

I walked along the front for a bit and came home via a different route. The little shack cafe wasn't open, so just made my way home for a hot drink. It had been very frosty but the wind was down so it didn't seem that cold.
I hadn't been home long when Dave arrived and asked if I would like him to finish erecting the greenhouse. He went home for his drill and some tools so that he could fix it to the concrete base. I hunted out a couple of long extension leads as it is a long way from the house!
Sandy came to visit and by then he had fixed the base and had started putting the glass in.
Sandy and I went out for lunch at the garden centre after she had seen the house. It began raining really hard so guessed that Dave wouldn't be around when we got back. But bless him, he came back at about 3.30 pm with a head torch to endeavour to get it finished as there were gale wind warnings for the early hours. He worked on and left for home gone six and has secured the greenhouse as well as he can. Providing it is still standing in the morning I will take a picture, as I am very excited about having one. Sandy collected the cakes I had made for her and Donna and gave me two serviettes that she had painted at the studio.
My bargain of the day was this tin with a sewing set in. The date on it is even my birth year! It was a whole pound!!
I have been in and out checking on Dave since we got back and have done some more to the jigsaw. Will take the Christmas cards down tonight and will be watching Holby.

  1. Beautiful sunrise. Well worth getting there for it, and you got to swim as well. Good start to any day. Hopefully you’ll get back into the habit of going swimming more often again, as I know you used to enjoy it. Even with the splashy man!
The greenhouse is looking good in that pic, so I expect it’ll look even better when you get to take on3 of the completed thing tomorrow. No excuse for not growing lots of plants now.
That puzzle looks a total nightmare. Really don’t think I’d have the patience to do it, and I do remember what a bugger the other map one was that you did! Good luck :-)
Great little sewing kit. You had to have, specially with your birth year on it. Ridiculously cheap for a quid!

  2. Was great to come out to that sky, I hadn't really expected anything quite so spectacular! If the numbers in the pool today were the norm, then I am sure I will enjoy going there again.
I am looking forward to seeing the finished greenhouse in daylight, may start assembling the staging tomorrow!
The puzzle may not be quite so hard as the Scarborough one, but at least that had a full size guide sheet!
The original price on the little tin was £14.99, so a bargain indeed.

  3. Wouldn't have paid that for it, but a snip at a pound!
