Lovely day and visitors!

I forgot to mention yesterday that we had sent for some stick on frosting for the bathroom and Tina's bedroom windows. Tina and I fitted it yesterday and it is very attractive. These rooms were overlooked and had to be blacked out, as the nets didn't work for either of them.
I didn't have a great night, but Donna and Amy were visiting today so thought I would see if I could make successful cupcakes, another dismal failure whilst in Scarborough. This time non sunken cakes and I decided to pipe the tops!
Donna and Amy arrived at 11 am and after a good look round the house we sat in my living room, Amy used some of the foam clay that I used with Isobel and enjoyed that.

They explored in the garden while I got lunch ready and then Amy had her new scooter out and went round the front lawn a few times.

We walked down to the sea this afternoon, through the memorial garden where the lions were attracting a lot of attention today!

I didn't actually take any photos after that, but Donna was taking some and has mailed them to me so will add then at the end. We got to the sea and had a wander on the beach, then a cuppa at the little cafe before we made our way back. We had another drink and Amy did a bit more crafting, they left for home at about 4 pm. Lovely weather today if a chilly wind, and very enjoyable.
We have had dinner now and a restful evening ahead I think. Will put the other lovely pics on the blog now.

  1. The patterned vinyl looks great on the windows, and as I can’t see any bubbles, you’ve done a great job of it :-) It’ll stop any nosy people having a peep in now.
The cake look good, and I bet they tasted good too. I certainly does make a decent have a decent gas supply.
A great visit was had by all if the pics are anything to go by. Lots of smiling people. Very cute and photogenic little girl, who obviously like a a very larg3 cup of tea :-)

  2. Hers was hot chocolate and she drank it all too! It was reasonably expensive vinyl but it did go on pretty well and is very attractive too.
I have to admit that the little cakes were light and very tasty! They took a couple home with them, although Donna is being careful and she still has Christmas cake to eat!
