Two different grey sea fronts.

I was out before 7 am today, went to the gym and worked through the program that Janine had written out for me yesterday. A really friendly crowd of folk go there so it is better than any gym I have tried before. Then I went into the pool and had a lane to myself which was great. Did twenty lengths but half swam and half walked them as I have been told walking in the water is one of the best ways to strengthen my knees/legs. Did walk along the sea wall, very cold and grey today and quite noisy too.

Back at home I tried to do a bit more of the jigsaw, it is proving to be a struggle so will just do a few pieces at a time when the mood takes me. I WILL finish it! When Tina's meeting was finished we went off to Bridlington where she had another meeting, but we had time to have lunch in Morrisons there and do a bit of basic shopping. Tina dropped me off at Tesco's car park so that I could walk into the town centre and make my way to the Spa to meet her. I had ordered some train tickets for a trip to Peterborough in March and hadn't had the confirmation email so the first stop was the train station and I got the tickets okay so that was good. Then I headed for town and was going to ask where the post office was but didn't have to as it was quite near. These bike racks were outside.
Had a long chat with the guy in the post office who did his best to talk me out of sending a parcel to America via 'economy' mail. Said he had never, in sixteen years, had anybody send anything 'economy'.Told me it was only £5 more to send it email, I said that the gift wasn't needed until March so I didn't want it to arrive next week!!
I made my way into the town and down to the sea wall so that I could walk along the front to The Spa. It was really cold, the wind was bitter, a grey day today. This house, overlooking the harbour make me think of Bleak House.
Pictures of the harbour and a rather novel statue.

It was such a cold wind that even these distant birds decided to stay on the beach!
Nearing The Spa there were some panels up, glass and I think photographs somehow displayed on them, I thought they were really attractive and unusual.

I had a lovely hot chocolate in the very nice cafe in The Spa while I waited for Tina. I also booked myself a seat at a matinee show in March, Flashdance and it stars Joanne Clifton. A matinee is fine as I can get to and from Bridlington on the bus.
We came straight home, had a cuppa together and I haven't done, or intend to do much for the rest of the day. Will watch Holby and maybe watch Vera on catch up.

  1. Well I shouldn’t think have done much, or intend to do too much more after such a busy day. You crammed a fair bit in, so I’m not surprised you just want to sit and relax. Two different sea fronts in one day is showing off a bit, specially when us more central folk only get to see it once in a while. Lots opportunities today for photography, and you really did make the best of it. I particularly like the novel statue and the glass panels. Very effective way of display mega large photos.
Great to hear you booked a show ticket. It’s good you’re getting out and about doing different stuff. Not that you really need to look for extra things to do :-)

  2. I was really taken with the panels, sort of vaguely transparent, but not really, very attractive.
I don;t mind going to things on my own, and because i just wanted one seat I am in row D I think, so should be a good view. Never read, or seen Flashdance, but I am sure it will be entertaining.
I am lucky to be able to get to see the sea and I never tire of it.
