Window seat cushion.

This morning I went to the gym and did my set exercises, have decided to do one or the other and not gym and swim on the same day. Took a few pics of the sky before I went in, subtle today, but pretty.

As I cut back to the leisure centre it was weird seeing the pool attendants from this angle.
I booked for aqua jog tomorrow and came home, taking one more picture before moving away from the sea.
I did watch an episode of the Two Ronnies when I got in, I am really enjoying these early ones and don't remember them at all, although I am sure I will have watched them back in the seventies. Then I decided to try and make a start on the window seat cushion. I have never attached this sort of trim, or even used a zipper foot before, so was bound to be fun! I ended up tacking it in place as just pinning round the curves and corners would have been asking for trouble. The trim was being sold off and parts of it had come away from the tape. I sorted out the longest good piece I had and it was a little short - oops.
I carried on regardless and cut a small piece to try and fill in the gap. I only had to unpick a little bit where I had caught up some of the material, but that was soon rectified, so, so far so good.
I didn't put trim round the bottom, but lining it all up took quite a while. In the end the gap is at the back and can't be seen, and the finishing off underneath is pretty dire. Trying to get the three pieces of foam in was quite a challenge too. but, it looks fine and Tina sat on it for a while earlier, joined by Blue.
I won't be making another one!
I ordered some unusual funky new seeds to try a few days ago and they arrived today. Can't wait to have a go at these.
When I was getting my dinner earlier the knife (a sharp one) slipped off the onion I was cutting and I slice my finger near the cuticle. Not very deep but have decided not to go to aqua jog in the morning as you are frantically moving your arms in the water and I do not want to start it bleeding again - I know, any excuse!!

  1. I really like the subtle sunrise. Very pretty. Can’t say I blame you for just doing one session at a time. It’s really hard work doing one after the other like you did before. It’s still more than enough exercise in one go.
The cushion looks great. I think it’s turned out really well, and it really doesn’t matter what it looks like underneath. Think you’ve done a great jobs of it.
Some funky seeds to grow. I’ve seen the cucamelons and tomatillos before, but not the other ones. I can th3 greenhouse is going to get well used :-)

  2. There is something about lovely skies and the sea which is so special. We both like clouds and skies anyway but with sea as well it is even more special.
The cushion does look good, glad I got around to it. Won't be making a spare that's for sure.
Bit early for seed planting, but it will soon be time.
