I took the bus to Robin Hood's Bay today, supposed to be lovely, and a steep descent down to the sea. The view from the top was another beauty.
The bus had to come down a 25% hill, which seemed steep, the one to walk down was 30%! (Thanks for recommending it Rachel, perfect for an old lady with dodgy knees and ankles!!)
Then up some steps ...
Another seascape from lower down towards the shore.
I had a drink and a delicious, very bad, cream cake. This is the view from where I sat, I had walked along that higher level.
I took some pictures actually on the beach, but will just post one.
Heading back up there was this great sign in one of the shop windows.
I asked at a pub if I could sit on the bench outside to sketch if I had a cup of coffee. They were happy and even made me a nice weak coffee the way I like it! I had set myself a real perspective challenge, so just got it drawn and not coloured.
Looks like you had a fab, but exhausting day. You're putting us all to shame with all this hill trekking!
ReplyDeleteSaid it would be kill or cure, hopefully, if not cure, it is doing me good!
DeleteLike the sketch, hope it's black ink :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm off trekking round Edinburgh today, lots of hills i bet!!!
No, pencil I am afraid, wasn't quite brave enough to use the pen! Enjoy the hills.
DeleteI hope all the lies are falling off. May be you need to invest in some of those hiking sticks, suppose to be great for hills. Like the sketch, will look great when coloured. X
ReplyDeleteNot much change on the weight front, but surely I MUST be getting fitter? Will think about the boots if I start managing longer walks. x
ReplyDeleteWell, Edinburgh was very hilly! Everything seemed to be uphill, and not much down :-) It was a brilliant place though, and I'd recommend it.
ReplyDeleteYou'd find it easy though after all your practice in Scarborough.
May have to make a list of my own!
DeleteI can recommend lists.................... I've got loads of them :-)
