I left the house before 9 am intending to make a visit to the museum and then the art gallery today. On the way down to The Rotunda there is a nice view under the small foot bridge over the road.
The Rotunda Museum is just round the corner at the bottom, but as I didn't check it out properly it isn't open on a Monday!
After this, armed with the map, and wandering around asking directions, I eventually found the way to the art gallery, via the footbridge that was in the earlier picture.
And looked down at roughly where I took the first photo.
The view across the garden near the art gallery was lovely, but the building itself nothing out of the ordinary so didn't take a picture of it!

The art gallery was closed too, but a passer by I talked to said there was an exhibition at Woodend, just a little way along the road. It was a small exhibition by an artist called Joy Lomas, all of Scarborough. Good, very precise paintings and a free booklet and free entry. Have taken a picture of one of the paintings.
Of the Valley bridge, which was quite near where the exhibition was, so seemed appropriate. then I walked down to and along the south bay, and booked myself onto a porpoise spotting boat trip, we didn't actually see any porpoised and it was quite choppy, but a good trip, took quite a few pics but will just post on of St Mary's church from the sea.
And one of the sun reflecting on the sea.

  1. Great day, great pictures!

Those paintings are extremely precise, but also nice. Are they watercolour?

    1. It was a good day, just wandering off and doing as I pleased! Yes, I agree, very precise but good, not my style, but I do like to be able to recognise what the painting is of.

    1. There were only six of us, but that meant we could sit where we wanted. I should have checked the opening times instead of just where they were, but I will go again. x
