A productive day

This morning I walked up to Freeport and left early as I called in at Woods, the builders merchants as I wanted to get a couple of pieces of plywood cut. I had taken measurements and asked the very helpful man his advice on thickness. One piece was for the Turner jigsaw that I took so long completing and the other a piece big enough to have another go at the shaped humming bird jigsaw. I had to pay a delivery charge and they will hopefully be delivered tomorrow. Then I carried on up to Freeport and the studio. Quite a lot of things I have painted had been fired. Some more successful that others. A delivery arrived and I have another pig pug to paint as the previous one got broken. Firstly the lantern I painted quite a while ago.
Peter rabbit turned out well, I am going to be on hand for a couple of sessions if people want some guidance painting him.
The thee pansies I painted on a flower pot are quite pale so I am going to paint another one with brighter colours as I amusing it to run a workshop.
I painted the barn owl last week.
The second largest of my stacking ‘dolls’ is damaged at the base, and I am not happy with the middle one, so am gong to paint two replacements.
I saved the clock to last as that has really turned out well.
I painted a tiny flower fairy today.
I caught the bus home and after lunch I spent quite a while in the garden. I got the fifteen primulas planted but did a lot of clearing on the rest of the beds round the large lawn. The weather was pretty good and I felt good with what I had achieved. Didn’t take pics as I have more interesting ones today!
So, I really have managed a fair bit of activity today so will probably not move far from the chair this evening.

  1. Definitely a busy day for you. But a productive one. It’ll be nice that you can mount those puzzles, specially the Turner one. You definitely wouldn’t want to be doing that again!
The firings turned out very well, specially the clock, that’s brilliant. I like them all. Peter Rabbit and the owl are great, and I think the pansy pots are fine as they are. Plenty of colour. I love the look of the dolls. Shame one is damaged, but it doesn’t show in the pic. The middle one looks fine too, but I know you want them to be spot on, so I’m not surprised you’re redoing the two. You’ll never finish painting at that place 😊
Lots of gardening too. AN evening relaxing in the chair will do you good.

  2. Yes, a good day all in all and my mood is good.
Plenty of painting still to do, the fruit bowl, second attempt at pig and the two ‘dolls’. Don’t need another plant pot until May so no rush on that one,
The garden is looking much better, but still plenty to do andI haven’t begun on the front yet!
