Off to York

Will do a quick entry as nearly tomorrow! This morning I popped round to see Sher, took her the moss I had saved and bought two plants.
The spider plant is apparently my birth month plant which seems appropriate!
I pottered a bit this morning and did some jigsaw.
We set off for York this afternoon, and parked near Clifford’s Tower.
Ther was a carousel nearby.
We passed the opera house and a side street with umbrellas on the way to the restaurant.
We went to a Vietnamese restaurant, I had a lovely meal and had a lotus flower tea, literally!
We had a quick look at the Minster before heading back to the theatre.
A lovely little venue, great stage scenery.
The play was brilliant and Martin Shaw lived up to our expectations, it built up to a very powerful end. We were just a few rows back so could see and hear perfectly. A good drive home and in just after 11.30pm.

  1. Sounds like a really good day altogether. You buying new plants, now that’s an unusual start to the day 😂
The jigsaw is coming on, albeit slowly. Definitely a stinker this one.
Looks like the weather was reasonable for your trip. Although you’d have happily trudged through a foot of snow to see Martin Shaw 😊 Is he still getting better looking as he gets older?
Whatever is in that bowl of food looks very nice, and I’d definitely like to try the tea. What was your verdict on it?
You certainly did have good seats at the theatre judging from the photos. The set does look amazing. A lot of work has gone into that. It’s a shame you didn’t get to meet him, but still a nice adventure. Back to normality today ☹️

  2. I have just seen that I wrote lotus flower, it was actually jasmine flower tea, it was a nice drink and certainly unusual. The food was a rice bowl with vegetables and charred chicken.
The traffic and weather were kind so a lovely trip altogether.
Martin Shaw is no eighty so obviously an older man, but still very handsome!
