One of the canna lilies is rally song well now.
I had to stake these gladioli as they were lying down on the job!
Had breakfast Nat Mme with Darren as we didn’t go to the boot sale today. Then I did a few chores and when I went to the bin I disturbed a moth but noticed where it flew and landed so was able to get a photo!
Tin wasn’t coming in for lunch today so I walked down to the front and met up with Darren at the hub after he had been to the gym. Got a lift back!
I went into the garden for a while to hand pull out some of the bigger weeds. Not too long out there but filled the garden cart! I picked some f the sea holly that was fading as there are lots of newer, bluer stems that the bees are going to. So thought I would have the older ones indoors for a bit.
Before I got on with dinner I cut out the pattern pieces for a pair of trousers and adjusted the length. Had thought of doing a bit more this evening but feel very weary and achey so will continue another day!
The spider webs aren’t bad considering they were taken on a phone. They’re not the easiest things to focus on or get the exposure right.
ReplyDeleteGiving those lilies a bit of space and some light has really made a difference. They do have a nice flower. I’m not surprised the gladioli was laying down. That looks a heavy bunch of flowers!
Not really the weather for car booting. Good job you didn’t miss out on breakfast though. That’s probably the most important part of Sunday mornings 😂
It’s so nice to be able to walk to the sea like that. It looks really good on a rough day too. A lift back is good also 🙂 Walking one way is plenty!
The sea holly in the vase is quite splendid. I bet the cat won’t be sticking its nose into it!
Can I assume the latest pair of trousers you’re making are as bright and colourful as the last pair?
Not surprised you’re weary after travelling yesterday. You should have a couple of easy days while the rain is around. No watering or weeding 😊
The material for the trousers isn’t too bright, I was going for price and something I would wear. Will put a picture in n when I start cutting out.
ReplyDeleteThe lily flower is lovely, they can get quite big, I may re plant it is a more open space next year.
It was a lovely day for a walk as it was fresher and the sun was hiding!
The gladioli often keel over with the weight, I expect I will be staking a few more. The sunflowers are about five feet tall now and just beginning to start flower heads, so I expect they will need staying before too long as well.
