Fairly quiet day

The sun was out again this morning although we have had some cloudy spells. I was up quite early and got some washing done and out on the line then as no boot sale I went and had a chai latte at Mondo del Caffe just down the road. I had a wander round the garden to see how the plants were dong and to check the bird baths. This plant has quite pretty blooms when it opens but I think it is more stunning before they do.
When Boyes opened I went and bought some watering cans with roses as ours lost them a long time ago. I don’t usually worry about them but now it is no hoses they will be better. Have used them this evening and they are a bit smaller too so easier to carry.
I have had a apple mint plant for a couple of weeks and couldn’t decide where to put it so I planted it in a larger pot for now. I had compost in the greenhouse so took it down there. This butterfly was resting in there and I disturbed it but made sure it found its way out!
I got a few more plants into the front garden, only six more to find home for now. The dark, very ded looking elves in the middle were a primula quote am leaving it in case if revives!
I had bought a large dark leafed plant on Thursday and when I was getting ready for planting I really struggled to get it out of the pot as it wa very pot bound. I broke one stem in my efforts nd when I put it in the ground I had to stake it. When I watered this evening the buds hd opened so I couldn’t hve hurt it too much!
Tina and Darren got home about three and we have watched the tennis, I wanted Sinner to win so I am happy and now we are watching the football nd England a four up at half time.

  1. I suppose not going to a boot sale means no chance of you bringing stuff home, and chai latte sounds like a pretty good alternative.
Very regimented watering cans 😊 You’ll need so many every evening if this weather carries on. You’ll definitely need some help with it.
Is the apple mint just an ornamental plant or is it related to “normal” mint. In other words can you eat it!
You’re always planting something in the garden. I don’t know how you keep track of what is what and where it is! But at least you haven’t mentioned planting bulbs lately 😊
Four up. Fingers crossed it stays that way. The certainty seem a lot better than the men’s team football ⚽️ Enjoy the se one half.

  2. Yes, it smells like normal mint, so will have to get some new potatoes!
Some things do die off but I try to remember where things are, I did mark some last year which promptly died and didn’t grow this year!
The second half is underway but Tina has switched Chanel’s to watch something else. I will head upstairs soon.
