Bit of variety

Chris and Danny we’re back today to finish off the French doors, they were still working when we set off to Hull as Tina had a dental appointment. I was taken with the lamp in the waiting room.
Then we went into the city passing this wall when we were going slow in the traffic.
We had a drink in Waterstones and I tried a matcha latte, very nice too.
Then we went to a garden centre on the way to Beverley as I wanted to get some compost and pots to get some cuttings potted up to over winter in the greenhouse. We had lunch first and then a look round. I saw some woven plant pot holders and thought they would be lighter on my plant stands and also have wider necks so that I could get hold of the pots more easily to check if they needed watering. I also got the pots and compost. The planters work a treat and I really like them.
I got Tina to take a photo of me in the car park as I was going for the understated look today!
I had been looking for a middle sized hedge trimmer but they didn’t have power garden tools. We called in a Wickes but they only had corded hedge trimmers. So we called in at Cherry lane and no joy there and then at Hornsea garden centre, none there either but we had a cuppa and shared a piece of cake and Tina thought I really need this duck!
Tina ordered a hedge trimmer to come on Monday while we were having our cuppa.
Should have said that as we were leaving Wickes they had some plants that were very sad, £1 for a tray of six petunias that three looked like they could be rescued and a geranium which looked okay for a pound as well.
When we got home I needed some milk nd went to the nearest shop, took this photo on the way back.
I have put the plants in and done a minimum of watering and now going to watch the dvd of A man for all seasons before it gets lost with the copy of the book and the charging leads!

  1. A very full day for you. A nice one though from the sounds of it. I mean, who doesn’t like drinking matcha and shopping? 😊 I’ve never had one of those, so I must give one a try.
I like the light too, also a lovely ceiling. I assume Tina came out with a lot less money than she went in with? πŸ™„
I really do like the woven plant pot holders. They really match in with the wood too. Definitely a good find.
The trouser/skirt looks very Jan! Not much chance of Tina losing sight of you πŸ˜‚
I like the duck too. You always find good stuff, and dead plants! I’m sure you nurse them back to health.
All in all a good trip, but a shame you couldn’t find a hedge trimmer. But Monday will soon be here.
A nice pic to finish with. Enjoy your dvd……before it vanishes!

  2. It was a full day and yes it was enjoyable.
It will be good to get the medium sized hedge trimmer, I can really set to in the garden then.
Yes, Tina had a big bill and that was only seeing the hygienist!
I think the duck can stay on the windowsill as we will see it every day then.
Got a couple of comments about the skirt/trousers.
I think three of the plants will survive, I am leaving the others for now in case they pick up.🀞
