Not a busy day

This morning I visited Bel who is really struggling with the heat, I think she was probably going to cancel her hair appointment this afternoon. Then I went along to have a cuppa and a chat with Sher. She has a really painful back at the moment and is going to see someone a friend recommended on Monday. Tin was off today so we spent the afternoon watching the men’s tennis semi finals. I was wearing a pair of the trousers I shortened and one of the new tee shirts so got Tina to take a photo.
Darren and Tina have gone away for a couple of nights to a farm somewhere near Halifax. They have arrived safely and looks like a lovely area and a great bin cupboard!
I have been out and done a bit of clearing in the walled garden. Darren and Tina’s tree were becoming overtaken with a nettle forest!
This photo is a bit dark but that large bramble hanging down from the wall was almost an inch thick and I wa tired of dodging it while I watered the trees!
And this path was just getting overgrown.
This rubble bag filled with bramble cuttings has been in the walled garden for months and we haven’t got around to taking it to the tip, so I dragged it up to the garden bin, it wasn’t heavy, just awkward, managed to get some of it into the bin along with todays cuttings and deposited the rest up near the bin.
I just watered the bonsai trees and the sunflowers this evening, with the little Christmas tree I rescued last year. It has been in the ground quite a while now and has lots of new growth.

  1. Bel isn’t the only one struggling with the heat. I am too. Today and this evening have been ridiculously hot!
The trousers look really good. You can get away with wearing stuff like that no bother. It must be your hippy streak 🙂
It looks really nice countryside where they are, and like you I think the bin cupboard is brilliant. If they’re staying on a farm do they get to help out with the animals?
I know the walled garden was in need of a bit of TLC, but you’ve got more stamina than me to attempt it on a day like today. Just dragging the rubbish to the bin would have done me in 🙂 It looks better though.
How many years before the Christmas tree earns some lights? 🎄

  2. They are staying at an air B&B at the farm I think.
It was still very warm outside and I didn’t go out until 8pm, an hour was plenty long enough.
I am very pleased with the trousers, but they do need a plain coloured top.
The Christmas tree is very small, it was in a small flower pot in a silly reindeer holder. A spring of little lights maybe!
