Trip to Beverley

After Ringtons had been we set off for Beverley as Tina had an appointment to collect her now glasses. I went to the Post Office in Smiths before joining Tina in Boots, as I had a package to send off.
Tina had read about a Greek restaurant and wanted to try it but it didn’t open until midday so we had a while to wander round and hit the shops! Tina got a set of fancy new knives in Lakeland and then we went to look at jigsaws that Tina and Darren had spotted when they were away. They were on offer but they didn’t buy then then as they weren’t sure which ones I would like. Not strictly true. They knew I would pick the bird one but weren’t sure bout a second one, so when I picked she got them for me today.
We went in The Works and I got a couple of things to do, like I need more things to do!
The lunch at the Greek restaurant was delicious and the guy who served us had us giggling. When we ordered,he said ‘Is that it!’ The practice there is to get your fish or net and then order sharing plates, but we didn’t know the ropes!  Then he was telling us the choices and said ‘you can have chips if you want’  in a wry dismissive way. We had the tender broccoli tips which were indeed very tender. We were smiling over it all meal, he was really very nice, and very funny! We had a few minutes left on the parking when we got back to the car, then we went to Flemingate.
When Darren and Tina were away they had also seen great garden ornaments at a great price so we went to look. Our garden will be fantastic this year, hopefully!
A reasonable bit of walking about today but may stir myself to do a bit to the saxophone in a while.

  1. Definitely a heaving shopping day today! 🙂 It’s good to have a bit of shopping therapy occasionally though. You’ve got some great stuff between you. I particularly like the garden ornaments. Very smart.
The restaurant sounded really nice. Hopefully you’ll know the ropes better the next time you go there 🙂
The puzzles look like they’ll be fun to do and not as annoying as some you’ve had lately. I’m sure you’ll end up with another difficult one before too long though.
Even after all that you’re going to do some work on the saxophone. You’re a glutton for punishment. What’s wrong with putting your feet up and relaxing? 😂

Seriously, it was nice, a leisurely lunch and pottering in the shops not in a hurry.mI am keeping a ‘happy diary’ so plenty to write today.
Haven’t thought about the saxophone, may give it a miss!
