Quite a day!

This morning Caroline came to take me up to the pottery studio. I took the dragonfly pot up with me which I did remember to take photos of before firing. It took quite a while to pint so hoping it turns out to be worth the effort!
Tina had an appointment in Beverley this afternoon and said she would pick me up from the studio and we could have lunch before the meeting. I said I would probably then make my way back to the bus station and make my own way home. More of that later. Tina was a little later picking me up due to another meeting and then we hit really bad traffic on the way to Beverley. So a real rush to get lunch and we went to the Cornish Pasty company as they serve quite quickly. Tina headed off before me and I went to Boots first as I wanted some moisturiser, but they didn’t stock the brand I buy. So I remembered that the small department store on the way to the bus station did and went in there to get what I was running short of. I had time for a coffee before going to the bus station, not a great day and not a great picture looking out of the window!
The day went downhill from then the benches were all being used and I was a little early so I stood next to an elderly gentleman while we waited, there was some dog mess near where we were standing and we both spent the time waiting warning people to watch where they were treading! The but was late, after I had been standing for over half n hour a bench became free and I sat before I fell! The bus was almost an hour late and people converged on it from all directions. I was nearing getting on when I realised I hadn’t got the bag from the department store, someone said a lady had taken it back to the shop! I walked back to the store and after some searching a lady had actually taken it back, but it was raining and I had missed the bus! Luckily Tina was still in Beverley so was able to come and drive me home. Because we had been ina rush she had booked her car park ticket on the app but unfortunately had not updated her new registration number and came back to a fine! Tina was thirsty so we called in at the cafe at Heron Lakes for a cuppa. Another not overly exciting photo.
Sale and Carol came into cut our hair this evening, a good job as always.
Back to the studio, I carried on painting a bowl that I started last week and forgot to take a photo again. But I like it so much I have bought one to paint form myself at home, so you can see what it is like at least.
I have decided that I will sleep in the bed, have done two night both of which have been pretty awful so at the moment am dropping off if I sit down for too long so will close now in case I crash out again!

  1. I’m definitely no judge of pottery pieces before they’re fired, but I know they always look good once they’re done. Good job you have an eye for it. I’m betting the dragonfly pot will look great though.
Well what a day you’ve had! You never seem to have simple days like us normal people have 🙂 I can believe you stood all that time at the bus station and no one offered you a seat. You should have played the “old lady just had an operation” card! All that and then having to miss the bus and go back to the store to retrieve your stuff. You couldn’t make it up 🙂 At least the lady was honest and did actually return it. The Rev get away lightly either. I bet she wasn’t too pleased about the ticket! Bet you were both pleased to get home.
At least the hair cutting went well and the bowl is in one piece 😂 Looks a nice bowl by the way.
Maybe after all the hassle and standing around you’ll sleep well tonight. I certainty hope so 🤞

  2. We were glad to get home, it was a tiring day and pretty miserable weather too. They have been very busy at the studio so lots of firing to be done, but ai am hoping the fruit bowl or the dragonfly bowl will be ready for collection when I go next week.
The lady that took my bag back to the shop was very good, I wouldn’t have been surprised it the stuff had found it’s way to a new home!
I won’t get my hopes too high on the sleeping front!
