Then we went to Mr Moos and had very naughty sundaes.
I went for a walk along Newbegin trying to find some Windowlene but it seems to have gone out of fashion. I found something similar at Countdown along with a small roller as I want to whiten the greenhouse windows.
When I got back I set about hanging one of my bargains, an original painting of a seascape. I love it, had to take down some pictures and rearrange the mantle shelf. Best £10 bargain in a long time,
The other bargain is a delightful, small musical jewellery box, with delightful illustrated tiles on the top. The musical mechanism is working. He let me have this for £5.
I went along to see Sher for a while at the shop, we had a chat and laugh as usual.
This evening I have spent a couple of hours painting the bowl I had started yesterday. I had hoped to finish it as I am going to the studio tomorrow but I cannot do any more tonight. Maybe I will finish it in the morning if I am up early.
I am home alone now, apart from the cats, I hope Darren and Tina have an enjoyable few days.
Happy Birthday Darren.
ReplyDeleteLooks like he had a good time at Mr Moos 🙂 Looks like you had a good time at the reclamation centre. I love places like that. Wish we had some around here. I think you did extremely well to get your items so cheaply. Definitely bargains, and really nice ones at that. I love original paintings. The work that goes into them makes them so special. I know prints can look so realistic these days, but they’re still not the same. It look nice over the fire place. Great jewellery box too. Well worth the trip out. Did the birthday boy buy anything?
I hope you manage to get the bowl finished as I know you’d like to get it there for firing.
Hope Darren and Tina have a nice break.
No Darren didn’t buy anything but he really enjoyed looking round, nd definitely enjoyed his sundae.
ReplyDeleteSuch a good painting, I am well pleased, nd the box reminds me a bit of Lucy Atwell illustrations.
Bowl not finished, will hopefully have time in the morning.
