The autumn crocuses looked lovely in the sun despite the weeds and ground elder!
After the shopping had been delivered I thought I would catch the bus into Hull. I had a letter to post and about ten minutes so set off to post the letter first as the buses are usually later than the due time. Not today! I was nearing the postbox when I saw it approaching, I turned round and walked as fast as I could but the last passenger got on and the door close as I was reaching the back of the bus. Not another bus for an hour and a half to Hull so no trip there today. There was one due for Beverley in half an hour so I went to post the letter and caught that one instead. The bus goes as far as Flemingate now so went there first looked in some shops and had a sandwich and a cuppa. Then I walked into the town on my way to the bus station.
I got a book at the charity shop near the bus station by Adriana Trigiani, I read a few books by her years ago, they are fun.
I was a bit early for the bus so read the first few pages. Then went and got in the queue a few minutes before it was due. Ended up standing in the queue for over an hour as the bus didn’t show, as the next one was in an hour I caught that, with very achy legs!
In the garden, checking the plants and spotted this little butterfly.
This morning I told Tina and Darren that I couldn’t manage the doorknob on the front door as you have to turn it while using the Yale key with the other hand. Just too difficult for me since the had has deteriorated. I suggested that I unlock one of the gates when I go out and take a back door key. So, what a lovely surprise when I got home, Darren had been out and bought and fitted a door handle.
So easy to get in now!
Don’t remember seeing pics of the roads around the park before. Think I’ve only ever been in it from just up the road. It is good to have it so close to you though.
ReplyDeleteOh dear the debacle with the buses was a bit of a nightmare. Missing one was bad enough, but then one being cancelled on the way home was just rubbing it in! I bet you were pleased to be finally sitting down on the bus after standing around for an hour? Only you could have both happen in one day 😊 Well at least you eventually got a trip out and made it home again, and you’ve got a new book to read. Made up a bit for the buses. Nice to finish off your trip finding that your housemates had sorted out the front door to make it easier for you. I suppose it was either that or put a tent up in the front garden for you 😊
Not the best of days bus wise bit it turned out okay. Hopefully I will still be able to walk tomorrow, doesn’t help having my legs as a permanent cat bed at the moment!
ReplyDeleteThe door is great now, it was becoming quite a struggle opening it.
