I have decided to try and stay in as much as possible and follow some of the guidelines. Went to the shop soon after I was up and about and I am now adept at using the self service tills! Very few people around, it was 7am, the Coop opens at six every day now. Had to pop into Heron as well as I wanted lard to make more bird feeders. Then got on and made them this morning they had some red berry suet pellets in Heron so that made them more interesting. They get eaten and work out a lot cheaper than the shop ones. I have quite a supply of the coconut shells now.
I was looking for my camera tripod and went to check if it was in the summer house, took a picture of the flower bed from that angle, beginning to look quite colourful now and a lot more stuff to flower yet.
I phoned the hospital to update them on my blood pressure. Talked to Mr Johnston’s secretary first who put me through to the pre assessment team. Had to leave a message but they did get back to me, so now I have done all I can. I was able to give them this mornings reading which was lower, so hopefully the surgery can go ahead providing Coronavirus doesn’t scupper it!
This afternoon I went out into the garden for a while. I thought I would start to get rid of the weed and unwanted plants near the summer house. Got a bit distracted with a root and cutting back the bushes and removing ivy, but a reasonable start.
Was going to stop them but after a cuppa did a bit of tidying on the bed in front of the summer house. Not a lot, but every little helps as they say!
Should have mentioned that I had a delivery of 25 k of suet pellets. That was a challenge getting it to the greenhouse and decanting it from the boxes. I have an old trolley that my sister gave me years ago and it has been worth its weight in gold!
Will try and get into the garden again tomorrow weather and knee permitting!
Heard today that my physio pre op session next week has been cancelled.
Saw that one last night. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteYou’re getting very adept at making those feeders now. Bet you’ve saved a fortune already by doing them yourself. They look as though they have way more in them too. No wonder the birds and squirrels flock to your garden. Do squirrels flock?
The first pic of the flower bed looks really nice. The garden is coming along nicely. Hopefully you’ll get a lot of use from it while you, hopefully, convalescing and self isolating! At least the blood pressure is coming down, so fingers crossed you get the all go soon, specially before April 15th.
Forecast here is rain tomorrow so I hope you’re luckier up there. Otherwise it might be a craft day and not a gardening one. Either way take it easy.
I made eleven feeders this time and it may have cost about five pound, but they are over a pound each to buy so it is a big saving and they are packed with seed!
ReplyDeleteThe dormant untended parts of the garden and filling up quickly now, I want to try and get ahead of the game before we have areas of jungle again!
Just have to sit tight and wait for any information regarding the surgery, nothing else I can do!
