Market and weeding

This morning Darren and I went off to the boot sale and market. Very disappointing as there were only about six cars at the boot sale. We had a nice sausage sandwich and cup of tea though and I did get a small weeding fork with a long handle.
On the way to the boot sale I had seen a seagull on top of the helter shelter, not sure about that spelling but you get the idea. Anyway, it flew off before I got the camera out. On the way to the market it was back!
Not a lot of stalls at the market either, but I got the veg for dinner and was very pleased to see the nutty man again. We didn’t hang about because it was pretty cold, so were home earlier than usual.
The amaryllis is now in full bloom, it is amazing how quickly they shoot up and flower.
I went out in the garden for about an hour and a half and considering how awkward I find weeding nearly filled the big trug with tiny weeds. Did a reasonable area, but haven’t even finished the big main bed yet!

That is quite a lot of weeds!
We have had dinner and I will be watching the new episode of Endeavour soon.

  1. That is a long old weeding fork. Shame you still have to bend over to pick up the weeds though. You need an assistant on their hands and knees to do that bit for you once you’ve loosened them. Would make the job twice as quick too and you’d get more done. Hopefully the stalls will increase as the weather gets better. Worth the trip out for the sarnie, plus now the nutty man is back you can get regular supplies again. I’m sure you’ll be testing a few this evening while Endeavour is on.
I like the pic of the seagull. The big blob of red in the middle makes it a good shot. Well spotted again.
Amaryllis are lovely flowers, but mine always seemed to collapse regardless of how well I staked them. Green fingers have never been my good point!
    Enjoy your program this evening.

  2. The weeding wasn’t too bad today, it is good to see the bed looking a bit tidier but I keep pulling up bulbs which is a pain!
The fork will be useful, there is still plenty of weeding to do!
Really pleased to have my nut supply again.
