Greenhouse, dementia meeting and hair cut.

This morning I spent a while cleaning the greenhouse and tidying it up. Also whitewashed the windows again to avoid the shrivelled seedlings I had last year! We have been saving toilet roll centres and I set out a tray of them, pushed paper into them to stop the compost oozing out and then part filled them and planted stock seeds.
I went down the road and the second hand shops open. I had spotted an old fashioned, wooden office chair the other day, so went in to enquire about it. He said it was £15 as it needed attention. I was thinking about it when he said I could have it for a tenner. Sold! He even carried it here me for me. It does need a good clean but I love it. I have a lovely writing desk that Mike made for me years ago. I have always had the laptop on it but do not use it now so it will now b my writing desk. The chair will be perfect.
This afternoon I went to a really interesting meeting about dementia awareness. Richard, who gave the talk is hoping to set up a dementia support group in Hornsea, I gave him my details as it would be something good to get involved with.
Then, when I got home, I went over to the hairdressers and had a long overdue trim, so that feels a lot better.
May have to do some chair cleaning tonight.

  1. A good use for loo rolls. Good job you use a lot at your place! What would the world do without loo roll tubes. It’d be the end of Blue Peter for a start!
The chair is lovely. I’d have grabbed it too if I’d have had the chance. A real bargain. I can see the missing piece on the back now that you spoke about. It’s nothing drastic. You’ll get many good years of service out of that.
All in all a few jobs done. A good day I’d say.

  2. Yes, a good day,it was nice to get the greenhouse ready for planting season, the meeting was so interesting and the chair was the cherry on the cake!
I write a lot of letters so having the chair with my writing desk is just great.
