I pass the folly to go to their house and it is interesting, now a grade two listed building it was used as a lookout in the Second World War. I will read a bit more of the pre war history and write about that another time.
This afternoon I got the tulips planted and then went to buy some buckets to make up some compost from Coir compost blocks. They are like bricks and you add six litres of water, leave it for twenty four hours and then bingo, compost.
Then I went out to dig a bit more of that bed, got on fairly well and removed more roots, got almost to the tree stump.
The robin joined me again and all was well, not too much pain until I was raking it ove to tidy it up. I backed into the tree stump, lost my balance and crashed down onto the stump brings it!
It isn’t as if I didn’t know it was there. Managed to get myself up and no real harm done although I imagine I will have a nice bruise on my hip and a few other aches and pains!
Apart from getting tea haven’t done a lot, some things on tv I want to watch tonight.
Quite an eventful day from the sounds of it! A good morning visiting friends is always a good start, it obviously went downhill this afternoon, literally! I sincerely hope you don’t end up with lots of bruise and ache and pains to go with it. You’re not safe to be let out in that garden alone. You should be chaperoned at all times by a responsible adult 😀 On the bright side the bit of garden does look a lot better than it did. Not that I think it’s worth breaking your hip for though! Take it easy.
ReplyDeleteNot a bad day at all and hopefully not too many repercussions!
ReplyDeleteGardening may not happen tomorrow!
