This poppy on the side of the lawn was sparkling in the sunlight, the photo doesn’t do it justice, and the snowdrops are blooming all over the place!
After lunch I did go into the garden for an hour or so, the back garden this time. I did see the robin a couple of times so he is still about. I decided to clear some of the ivy at the back again, had to cut down some and r move other branches to get to the ivy. The photos don’t make it too easy to see what I did as the sun had mov round and it made a big difference. But, I filled the pink truck three times and the newly emptied garden waste bin is now full again!
One of the ongoing jobs, one of many!
I got a great little gift from my sister in law Hazel today, it really couldn’t be more perfect!
I got an amaryllis for Christmas and it has now overtaken the coffee plantation! The flowers should open soon.
Tina has just called me as the lights in the fairy garden are on, there has been a lot of sun today.
I remember those days well too. A layer of ice on the inside of the bathroom windows! Thank heavens for central heating, although I did used to like the old coal fire.
ReplyDeleteThe snowdrops do look nice when they spread like that. Some good things do come from bulbs I suppose. Like the artsy low level shot too 😊 Looks like you managed to clear a fair bit of garden rubbish in an hour. Every little helps as they say. Just a shame it all grows back again! Nice sign from Hazel. You’ll definitely have to plant some herbs now. The coffee plants have grown so well over the years. Hopefully the amaryllis doesn’t topple over and break any of them. That would be a disaster!
The fairy garden lights are really bright considering they’re solar ones. It looks great along there. If I were a fairy I’d move in......no comments thank you 😀
I did take a picture from standing and the snowdrops r ally didn’t show up, that one makes if obvious what they are. I think a lot of those bushes at the back there need to be dug out and cleared completely, a lot of them are in poor shape. But that is a job for the back burner, there are more pressing areas to be seen to. I will stake the amaryllis when the flowers start to open, the one I had last year had huge flowers,
ReplyDeleteSaying nothing about fairies in the garden!
