New garden store and trip to Hull

When I was with Jackie yesterday she said that we could have the very large garden storage unit she had as she wanted one that took up less room in her garden. I told her we were interested, she said she wasn’t in a hurry but she phoned phoned me this morning to say that the man with a van that she uses could bring it today! Took some measurements and told her that it would have to come in at the large gate at the back of the garden. How the two lads managed to carry it so far is a mystery but it is now in place and the charge for collecting and delivering it was reasonable. Now looking very grand on the patio.
In the front garden the first snowdrops are appearing. One of these isn’t even properly in the ground! I have planted so many but birds and cats ensure that some end up on top of the soil!
Tina and I went into Hull, she had appointments later but we did some shopping and had lunch together. We went to Hobbycrqft on the way in, never a good idea especially after Christmas! I came away with quite a stash....
On the way into the city the reflection in this building made me think of the rhyme ‘there was a crooked man who lived in a crooked house’!

In Debenhams we had lunch and then shopped. I bought some Joseph Joseph kitchen utensils and a lamp for my sitting room. Couldn’t remember my pin for my store card and stopped after two attempts so it wasn’t frozen!
They were both in the sale, but sadly the lamp isn’t working, it is a tiny little bulb so I will have to get a replacement and hope that is the problem. I went to the bookshop with Tina to see if they has anything on Makaton, they hadn’t but it was worth a try. Tina went off to her meetings and I went back to Debenhams, by then having remembered the pin for the card.topped up on toiletries and got these two great tins with biscuits in greatly reduced. One I will give to Jackie as a thank you for the store, they do have a motor home.
I have been fighting with the laptop this evening, I rarely use it now and it is slow and when I try to print anything it is a painful process!
Now series of Death in Paradise starts tonight which should be fun.

  1. That’s a really nice garden storage unit. I doubt that’ll blow away like the plastic ones do. It looks very heavy and I know how far it is from that back gate to where it is! Bet they were knackered!
Definitely a day for getting new stuff, or new to you stuff. Quite a little stash from your shopping trip. Shame the light doesn’t work, hopefully the bulb will be the problem. But I know a man whose name begins with D who has lots of test equipment, so it should be easily fixable 😊 I like the way the kitchen utensils fit together like that. Very space saving. I usually have to root through drawers when I want to find anything! Funky tins too, and I hope the biscuits inside are as good.
I really like the photo of the reflection. Well spotted. Shame that van was in the way.
You’ll have to get the iPad sorted to print things. Laptops are so old fashioned these days 😊

  2. Darren has checked the bulb and it needs replacing so I will try and track one down tomorrow.
I like the utensils and they are bright and cheerful too.
Luckily we wer at lights so I could get the shot of the building reflection.
