This morning Jacky came round for is to get some Makaton practice. Rather less practicing than chatting but it was a good morning,. it snowed quite hard fora while when she was with me, then it was bright and is how the day continued. Very cold wind. i took a photo from the landing window when she had gone, just a remnant of the snow remained.
When Tina has finished her duties for the day we set off to Bridlington to have lunch and do a big shop. The weather turned pretty bad on the way but it made a dramatic backdrop, not bad pictures as we were on the move.
It got really dark, we saw the beginnings of a rainbow and then the sky cleared again. That was the pattern for the rest of the afternoon. After shopping we decided to go to a garden centre we hadn't visited before for coffee and cake, or in my case water and cake! Over half way through the challenge now and t is going well. I bought a plant, some lawn weed killer and a cushion for the tablet. I am using it now and getting used to it.
I ordered a book and a basic felting kit after the class yesterday. The book arrived today and I am not very impressed with the items in it but it will give me and idea of how to progress. Talking of books, the one I got in the mystery parcel yesterday about winter planting is really great with some very interesting ideas. The felting kit should arrive tomorrow, so watch this space!
We unpacked the shopping when we got home and it is a quiet evening on the agenda now. looking forward to Death in Paradise.
Luckily we’ve not had any sighting of snow yet, but it’s predicted for next week. Whether it arrives or not is anyone’s guess. It’s certainly cold enough at times though.
ReplyDeleteActually that is a very dramatic backdrop for the turbines. The swathe of green in the foreground sets it off nicely.
I like the tablet cushion. That’s a good idea. I end up balancing mine on my lap, which isn’t always the best idea.
A book on winter planting is perfect for a garden with snow on it. You better get reading quickly 😊
Glad the water challenge is going well. It’ll be over before you realise. Drinks will taste fantastic for a few days. Something to really look forward too.
Very changeable weather today but consistently cold!
ReplyDeleteGlad the bad weather has kept away from you so far.
I am finding the cushion quite comfortabe to use now.
