A fairly short entry today I think, I spent the morning blitzing the kitchen, it needed it, it was icy outside and I was waiting for the delivery of the felting kit.
After lunch I caught the bus up to Freeport, I was surprised at how slippy it was underfoot.I got some trousers at a bargain price in Klass and then had a pleasant hour with Abi at the craft outlet.
I decided to walk home but soon realised that it was going to be tricky. It was mid afternoon and you can see from this puddle that the ice wasn't going anywhere!
The view across the cemetery was wintry and I liked this pile of newly cut logs.
The pavements were like a skating rink so I was walking very carefully! Hazel had given me a pair of winter overshoes but I hadn't realised how bad it was and didn't use them. I managed to get over half way home and was confronted by and icy patch and was thinking I needed to get across the road where it wasn't so bad when down I crashed!! A lady driving by as I fell stopped her car and came back to see if I was okay, then she offered to give me a lift to the traffic lights in town. The pavements were clear there. I am okay apart from a sore bottom on the opposite side to the still sort hip!
This evening I have been playing with the felting kit, stabbed myself a few times so that will take my mind off my other injuries. Anyway, quite a cute result I think.
Packing everything away now and will watch some tv.
Well for once I’ll say you should have spent the day gardening, it would have been safer....probably 😊 Glad to hear you’re ok though with no lasting damage. Nice to know there are still some kind people about too. Very kind of the lady to stop and help.
ReplyDeleteI really like the pic across the graveyard. Sums up a winters day perfectly.
The mouse is fantastic! It’s soooo cute 😊
Going to be even worse tomorrow I think, will put the bad weather things on my shoes if I venture out!
ReplyDeleteThe lady was very kind and it was a great help, I may have gone down again as I was getting up on ice!
I am really pleased with the mouse, my stabbed finger is less impressed though!
