Yesterday I moved the hyacinth bulbs out of the dark cupboard as they are shooting now, maybe flowering in time to give people at Christmas.
Scrabble club day today so I put the Super Scrabble into the trolley to take it with me, the house ai was going to is a twenty minute or so walk away. When I set out it was cold an hailing and that turned into drizzle. Three of us played on the big board and three on a regular game board. We only had one game and it took getting on for three hours, including the ta break! The other ladies had two games and finished before us. Didn’t leave until getting on for five and then walked to Tesco before making my way home. The streets are really dark around here at night!
A while ago I ‘rescued’ a rather poorly begonia plant from a garden centre. It is flourishing and has beautiful flowers.
I borrowed some dies from Ellie yesterday and she gave me some sparkly card. I have nothing to show for it as I had several attempts and just couldn’t get them to cut properly. I may try again with different card or paper.
Holby tonight, was a very dramatic ending last week!
Hopefully the wind blew some of the leaves away for you, or at least piled them into a corner ready to bag up.
ReplyDeleteThose are very colourful containers for the bulbs. Should make for a nice display when they are in bloom. They always smell so nice too.
Three hours does seem a long time for a game of scrabble, even a big one! Hope you got some big scores.
I used to find sparkly card was always difficult to cut in my electronic cutter. It must be the glitter in it that causes the problem. Hopefully you’ll have more luck with normal card.
There are piles of leaves around the garden so maybe I will be able to gather some in the morning.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed the hyacinths really take off now and grow well.
We got very high scores, I didn’t win but it was an enjoyable game.
Maybe I will get to try the dies again tomorrow.
