Another day another dig!

Not a lot to tell today, another on mainly in the garden. This morning I moved th brown bin and finished off the front of the bed near the wall. Got my tamarix tree planted and a few other plants we had been given and bulbs in, so fingers crossed for a good display next year.
After lunch I went out again and started on the area where the huge green plants are. If I thought I had battled with the roots and runners before I was mistaken, the hold these plants have is something else. The runners are several feet long and split when you try to pull them out, and the roots a big but do break reasonably easily.
I removed all but two of the large plants, they were sprouting up everywhere, the area has only been dug once, but a start is made.
I made a tasty sausage casserole in the slow cooker for our tea, very enjoyable after my labours. If it doesn’t rain it will be more of the same tomorrow I imagine.
On a different note I have the exercises now to try and sort out my lower back pain. Started last night and had a very funny turn and felt quite poorly afterwards and went to bed early. Have managed to do them today without difficulty. After a while I will let you know if they are helping.

  1. Well it does look nice, but then it should after all the work you’ve put into it! I do hope the tamarix fairs well this time. You’ve not had much luck with them in the past, what with flying sheds etc!
Those roots look hard work to get out. But then you’ve had plenty of practice with those too in that garden. And you thought Scarborough was hard to keep up with! I still think you’re doing way too much though, so do try to take it a little bit easy occasionally.
    Fingers crossed the exercises help.

  2. Certainly getting more experience of ground clearing than ever before, to think I was excited about having a bigger garden, little did I know! Half th people who go by say I must love gardening, how wrong they are!! Fingers firmly crossed for the tamarix.
