This morning Rachel came for a visit, she had hoped to stay when I first had the surgery but illness and work commitments got in the way. We had a lovely day today though, we chatted for a bit over a cuppa and then went out. We made for Irton Moor garden centre first, had a look round and then had lunch there. Lots more chat and finished lunch off with one of their very naughty cakes! We had a wander outside, it was a lovely day but cooler than we had thought so soon came inside again.
Then Rachel said we would go for a drive and see where it took us, we went past Snainton and a bit further along turned right along a very narrow, rural road. A view from the car early on our mystery tour.
Lots of black sheep, not just the odd one in a field.
We both rather liked this little building, thought it would be a nice little getaway in the middle of nowhere!
Then more black sheep.
Hello handsome......
This grand driveway was covered in crocuses.
After a long drive along very narrow roads, in a couple of places we thought we had just driven to somebodies drive, but each time the road was there if a little obscure. I was very glad Rachel was doing the driving! We eventually saw sign posts and I think I spotted this unusual roof decoration in Scalby village.
We made our way back and then sat for a while over a drink and more chat. Rachel left a bit after 6 pm and is staying with another friend tonight and making her way home tomorrow. It has been a very lovely day. Going to watch Broadchurch tonight.

  1. It's great she made it up there to see you. Shame it couldn't be longer, but maybe next time. Seems like you both made the most of it though and had a good drive round, with some nice lunch and cakes too! I vaguely remember the cakes at Irton being extremely nice looking and bet the taste was as good.

Nice to see you've had a day where you got to take a few pictures too. I like the roof decoration, very unusual.

Broadchurch for me too, right now.

  4. So pleased you had a lovely day, at least she made the effort to come. more than some, some people think no car can't go, always public transport for someone really special like you. Who would put and has put herself out for most of us. Well done Rachael. Xxx
