I had a disturbed night due to a prolonged coughing fit, thank goodness for Mahjonng on the computer! I didn't manage to get a dry dressing for the wound on my ankle yesterday, so I went down to make an appointment to see a nurse. I am going quite late tomorrow evening.
I did a bit to the jigsaw this morning and then Darren came up and asked if I wanted to go and have lunch with him and then he would drop me off at the studio where I had agreed to help out for an hour this afternoon.
I was allowed a 'freebie' so picked one of the plates that had a slight chip and had been repaired. I decided to do another Sharpie design but also to use the bits that we keep when we are cleaning up the paint bottles.
The girls are doing two firings this week so tonight it will go in as it is to fix the pieces in the centre, and then tomorrow it can be glazed and go into the second firing. When I had finished I sharpened the pot of pencils for them before Sandy gave me a lift home. I had painted a butter dish last year and had left it in the shop to be sold, but Mike was saying he wanted a butter dish the other day and they haven't actually been able to get them again in the studio for a while. So today I brought it home so that he can have it next time I see him. I did post the pictures before but think they are worth a second run!
I haven't felt 100% today, my cough is still troublesome and my knee has been really playing up, hopefully I will have a better night tonight.
The sky was pretty again tonight, not spectacular, but they will get better.
Love the plate! You managed to get the petals so even looking. I think that'll be great when it's fired. I look forward to seeing it finished. I also look forward to using the butter dish. I do tend to get through a lot of butter these days!
ReplyDeleteEven the skies that you think aren't spectacular actually are compared to what I see here :-)
I am looking forward to seeing the plate after the first firing. I just used two colours for the petals and mixed them to get different shades. Won't see how well that worked until it comes out of the kiln!
ReplyDeleteLoving the painting plate and butter dish stunning xx
ReplyDeleteThank you. Restful weekend for you I hope? xxx
ReplyDeleteSadly not Skips mum fell yesterday in the street and broke her hip she is having blood transfusion today and op tomorrow so we were up there last night and have managed to get a fold up bed for them to take care of dad as he can't manage on his own 😬 Think family needs to seek professional assistance as we are the nearest relatives and can't commit to a permanent caring role
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I hope the operation goes okay and you manage to sort something out for his dad. x
ReplyDeleteThanks I am sure they will sort it I know what to do but it's not my place to orchestrate it all xxx love ya
ReplyDeleteLove you too, try and get some rest time this weekend. xxx
