Yesterday evening I finished the quilt off while watching Dalziel and Pascoe! Really so pleased with this one and will probably use this pattern again.
This morning Sue, who used to be one of the members of my button group came over for us to go for a coffee and a wander in Peasholm Park. After we had finished our drinks and nattering we took a gentle walk round the park and even went a little way into the glen. The plant has flowered now, absolutely gorgeous.
The glen itself is getting it's summer colours now and is lovely as always.
The stronger pain killers had lessened the pain in my ankle, so managed a walk round without too much trouble. After Sue went home I went out into the front garden to tidy it up a bit, as it really was beginning to look uncared for!
When the shed went fly about last year it landed on my tamarix tree. I have really been cursed with trying to grow them, the cats were the culprit in Peterborough! Anyway, I cut off the trapped branch and put it into a new pot, putting it in the front garden this time. It has survived, and one area actually had flowers, hopefully the whole thing will be covered it the lovely feathery blossom next year.
The several headed tulips still haven't opened properly, I think this very changeable weather is delaying them! But this one that looks a bit like two tulips in one has opened and is very attractive.
The garden looks a little more loved now!
A sky, but just nice clouds not a sunset, the sun has gone into hiding now.
Holby later, and not sure if I will continue with In The Club, I will decide later. Will be seeing a lot of Colonel as Tina went off this morning and won't be back until Monday, and Darren, I think, will be spending a lot of time in the shed!!

  1. That's a really nice quilt, and you might be needing it soon if the weather doesn't soon sort itself out. Hot one minute, cold the next! At least you had some nice weather today to visit the park and take some pics. The front garden looks a bit better now you've manicured it, and the tamarix is doing well for a change. You don't have much luck those things, but you persevere and get there in the end.

  2. Yes, a good day by recent standards and nice to see Sue after so long. Actually felt like tidying the garden which I haven't for a while!
