Have been a little fed up with the lack of progress with the ankle this week, so today Tina took me to a chemist that sells lots of sport supports. I ended up getting supports, strong pain killers and some gel for joints. I did take a tape measure with me to make sure I got the right sized support. It may have been the right size, but it is really long, narrow and tight! Tina came to my aid and with talcum powder and nearly dislocating my hip we got it almost on! It set our day off with plenty of laughter. The ankle was still painful, but well restrained, so I managed to walk into town, had tea and scone near The Grand and then back. albeit very slowly! I wanted to get near the bay as we had a sea fret today and thought it would be good to get a picture. Here is the fret hiding the castle.
And across the south bay.
Watched a film when I get back, had to take the support off after three hours as it was really tight and uncomfortable. Have spent time this afternoon sewing the small squares together for the spider hanging. Here are the first four rows assembled , I have placed a 5 p on one square to give an idea just how fiddly it is!
I have done a bit more, maybe get the pieces together tomorrow.

  1. Strange name for a mist. I wonder how fret comes about? It does look good in a picture though.
I can imagine you two in fits of laughter doing the support :-) But if it got you out the house for a while, and more to the point, a nice scone, it's well worth the hassle.
The spider's coming on well. You'll soon have to start thinking about the next project!

  2. I had never heard the phrase before coming up here, is in the dictionary though! The next project won't be small squares, that is for certain! Thinking I should make a quilted book bag for when I take my book out with me, always bothered it will get damaged.

  3. A book bag is a great idea. A useful project. Trying to think if I need any bags for anything :-)
