I will start with a photo from yesterday evening for a change!
I did make my way into town this morning, probably a mistake as my knee didn't seem too bad before I went out, but has been painful for the rest of the day! At least it makes me less aware of the ankle, always a plus side if you look hard enough! I went to Boyes to get some embroidery silk for a project which I now think I won't be doing, but they will come in useful at some point. Was going to call in at the studio but it wasn't open when I came by so went to the cliff top to look at the sea. Really cold and windy today, grey as well, more like back to winter than the beginning of summer.

Have been trying to do some clearing and  attempting to be a bit more ruthless in what I need to keep. The project is to decorate a square to see if it will be selected for a quilt for the queen. Sixty will be chosen, but all entries will be in a virtual quilt on line if they are deemed suitable. The fabric square arrived today and has to be returned by the end of the month, so had better come up with my design promptly!

  1. Did you wait for that bird to appear in the sunset, or was it a happy happenstance? Either way it looks good. It does look very wintery in the other pictures, but I bet it blew away a few cobwebs standing up there today.
Are the embroidery silks for the Queen's square? I only ask because you say they're for a project you now won't be doing, but later it seems you are? Or was it two separate embroidery projects? You should have loads of time to get it designed, stitched, and posted off before the end of the month. Easy peasy :-)

  2. Yes the silks were for the square, had thought about embroidering a corgi, had a picture, but then thought better of it! So the final idea is still in the pipeline.
The bird was a happy accident!

  3. Yes, a corgi would be quite hard, and a bet a few others will do those. How about a Land Rover? :-)

  4. Thinking more of rose, daffodil, thistle and shamrock at the moment!
