I decided to catch the bus into town this morning to post the parcel I meant to send yesterday. I waited for ages again and no bus appeared, I had strapped my knee and ankle so thought I would see if I could manage to walk there today. I went up North Marine Drive and then cut through Trafalgar Square. At the Trafalgar Road end Sandy from the studio spotted me. Stopped to ask about her trousers and then offered to give me a lift to the post office, which I gratefully accepted. After I had sent the parcel I made my way to York Place and waited for a but to bring me home, to the end of the road in fact. I arranged the material I had cut into strips, so that I could start making a quilt with them.
Darren and I went to Sainsbury's and had a bit of lunch and I did some shopping. I had re-thought how I was going to assemble the pieces for the quilt, a bit restricted with just six fat quarters. It is turning out much better than I thought it would, so fingers crossed.
I made a tasty meat pie for dinner and am leaving any more sewing until tomorrow as I need to get my feet up, a couple of programs I like on the tv tonight. We have had some quite heavy rain this evening which is great!
It still seems weird to me when I hear you mention, or if I see, Trafalgar Square in Scarborough.
ReplyDeleteThat looks a good start to the new quilt. I like the materials and the pattern, you've matched them together well again, so nothing new there :-) Finished by tomorrow?
Throwing it down with rain here too, but hopefully dry for tomorrow so I can get out for a walk. You'll want dry weather too or your sausage bap at the boot fair tomorrow will get soggy!
I will make it as big as I can with the material I have got. I have wadding, but will need to buy some material for a border I think, although I will look through what I have already.
