Last night the sun was bright as it went down and I took some pictures which turned out to be quite funky!

This morning Darren and I went to the boot sale, I had done a lot of ankle stretching in the night and managed to walk around for about an hour before heading back to the car. I have decided it is time to try 'kill or cure' and up the exercise for the ankle to see if it helps, really can't make it any worse! We had dinner together while watching the very exciting grand prix, made even better for me by the fact that Lewis won!! Did a bit of clearing up in the back garden, I got some strong rubble sacks yesterday and have filled several ready for going to the tip. Also used the 'magic gel' that is supposed to kill weeds never to return. I like this close up of one of the Californian poppies in bud.
The several headed tulips are really taking their time to open, I have never seen anything in bud for so long.
Another close up, this time of an allium bud about to burst open. I have some planted in the tubs at the front of the house.
Purple seems to be the dominant colour in the garden at the moment. Will be watching Wallander later.

  1. The sun shots really are funky. It's great what reflections do to camera lenses. Looks like something from a scfi film, a planet with two, or three, suns :-) Like the pic of the furry poppy too.
Those multi headed tulips are a bit long winded. Maybe having all those heads on one stem takes a lot out of the plant, and it takes longer for them to open fully. Why can't you have normal flowers like everyone else? :-)
Hope the kill or cure strategy works on the ankle. I'll reserve judgment as to whether you can't make it any worse if the time arises!

  2. The reflection did make them look like special effects! I will reserve judgement on the ankle too, but worth a try. Might hear from the hospital this week!

  3. Just caught up on your blog, as you know we have been away in Bournemouth. So lucky with the weather fabulous sunshine each day and much warmer.
You blog has lots of interesting post, well done. Especially like you green plant holder and the very pretty pink plant. Not seen one so dainty as that. Lovely. Xxxx
