Long busy day!

I was up at 4.30 am after a pretty restless time in bed. Fed the cats and then considered trying to see the sunrise, but the time I checked what time that was it was about to happen! Took a pic of the sky when I went out to feed the birds, just a bit of colour behind the trees.

I had said I would go to Tesco to get rolls for lunch and some things for dessert, so set off and was at Tesco as they opened at 7am! Not tills open frost thing so had to use the self checkout, not that I really mind but hadn’t used their machines before. I bought an interesting book off the charity shelf.

Today, somewhat reluctantly, I decided to try and do something with the main flower bed in the front garden and the path in front of it. The bed was full of weed and past their best forget me nots,  so not a challenge I was relishing and the gravel path was bad too.

I did do some pruning of bushes as well and could then really appreciate how lovely the tamarix is this year.

I wanted to get some plants to brighten the bed up eventually and Darren too me up to the garden centre where we had lunch before getting a selection of flowers.

I worked well into the afternoon and things are tidier but still a bit drab.

I filled some watering cans before dinner and afterwards went out and put some of the plants into the bed.
