Today I went out fairly early and met Angie, who ai used to work with, for breakfast, a bus ride for me but got right near the meeting point. She hasn’t been well for quite a while now but is back at work. She dropped me off at Mike’s because was going to print a form for me so that ai could take it into Margherita to get signed. Then we took a slow walk into town. We had a lovely spiced chai drink in a great cafe that used to be a jewellers. Still some jewellery for sale and other nice stuff, and a rally first class drink!
Those lamps were for sale too. That’s the only photo today!
We went in some shops as there were a couple of things I wanted to get but didn’t manage to. Then we went for lunch at Parrots fish and chip restaurant where, at the top of the stairs there is a small step into the seating area. I stepped down, didn’t land balanced, went I few steps trying to right myself and then crashed to the floor whacking the knee that has been painful! That was a definite ouch and then I couldn’t get up and had to be hauled to my feet! Lunch was good though!
Got a taxi up to the care home where I had a couple of hours with Margherita and have a couple of things to sort out for her. It took me ten minutes to hobble to the bus stop and I was pleased the the bus into the city centre was due in six minutes. Except that. One didn’t arrive so hd to wait another twenty minutes! No way I was walking back into town! The bus back to Orton left soon after I got to the bus station and I managed to walk very slowly back to the house.
Chatted with Rose for a while and we watched a couple of old Death in Paradise episodes. Will probably take some pills nd try to get comfortable in bed when I have finished this.
Now everyone knows I’m evil for taking you into unsafe fish and chip shops! I still think you should sue them 😄 I do hope the knee recovers quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe spiced chai was really good, and the step in there was less treacherous! I’ll definitely be going in there again for a chai.
At least you got to spend some time with Margherita. Just a shame the walk to the bus stop was so painful. A twenty minute wait wasn’t so good either.
Sounds like your evening was a bit less pain inducing and more relaxing. If you get up tomorrow and can’t walk you’ll have to charge all the taxis to me! 😊
One of those things, no blame attached! Fingers crossed it will be a little better tomorrow.🤞
