Trip from last week

On Thursday last week I went with Tina to Scarborough. She had a couple of things to collect from the auction house then we drove to a viewing point a bit out of the town centre so that I could enjoy the view of the sea and castle.

We had lunch at the Stained Glass Centre, very tasty and always good to look at their wonderful creations. Then off to Filey Bird and Animal Park where we collected out annual passes. I didn’t take many photos which made a change!

Then we called in at a Reignton nursery and surprisingly I bought some plants!
I actually got them all planted the same evening.
One of the things that Tina had bought at the auction was for me for Christmas, but they decided to give it to me straight away anyway! I do love copper!

I got the final Christmas cake made on Saturday, I have just made seven this year, they are looking good I think.
Sunday turned out to be a different day, but I will catch up with that tomorrow.
Yesterday evening I used some of the papers from the wallpaper sample books to cover some books for a friend, haven’t done anything like that for a long while.
Today I haven’t felt very well, quite achey and very tired, it was very humid last night and has remained so all day, which hasn’t helped. So I haven’t done a great deal some reading and quite a lot of Commonwealth games. Talking of the games Tina ordered me my very own tiny Perry and he arrived today!
I did make a card this afternoon, made a bit of mess too!
More sport this evening (on the tv!) and then early to bed, hoping I may feel a bit better tomorrow.

  1. That is a nice vantage point to get some pics of Scarborough. The castle looks good, even from there. A bit of gadding around on the Revs day off always does the pair of you good. Some great pics from the animal park. No idea what the last one is, very chipmunk like, but it’s very cute.
You should be banned from buying plants. Good job you’ve never kept a record of what you buy and the cost. Would frighten you to death 😊
The Christmas pressie dish is lovely. I like copper too, until it comes to cleaning it! Get it really clean then spray it with lacquer. You’ll never have to Polish it again.
The books turned out well. The sample book really came in handy for that task. She’ll be chuffed with those. People will see those and you’ll end up with loads of others to do 😊
I think this weather is a lot of the trouble with not feeling so good. It’s way too hot at nights to sleep properly and way to hot in the day to do anything! Roll on winter.
Nice card. Is it Pearl who likes elephants? Is it for her?
Hope you get a better night tonight and feel better tomorrow.

  2. It is a chipmunk, quite hard to get them in focus as the camera picks up the wire!
Yes, it is Pearl that likes the elephants and it is her birthday next week.
Another lady was admiring the covered books when I was handing them over, so you could be right!
Best not to think about the spending on the garden, or the amount of work for that matter!
