Quiet sort of day

I took a couple of pics of the sky last night, the first one a bit out of focus as it was through the mucky landing window, then went outside but obviously I was much lower down so could see quite as much!

I went along to the newsagents quite early as I bought a lucky dip lottery ticket yesterday, haven’t done the lottery for years now, and got three numbers so went to collect my winnings! Went to the shops again a bit later and got some nice things for dessert with some of the bonus money!
I was in church for a couple of hours, Judi was giving her talk about her journey towards heading off to be a nun. It was interesting and I was pleased I was there, stayed to help out with the coffee afterwards.
I finished the fifth book in the Shetland series yesterday, so have started the sixth. Only a couple more after that I think so will have to get the first of the Vera series lined up!
Last week at the fete Tina won a strange bottle of drink and was going to put it back into the next tombola, but I really liked the bottle and Said I would give the melon liqueur a go. I have a little liqueur and a lot of milk and I really like it!
I filled up the watering cans for the front earlier and after dinner used four cans for the essential plants in the front garden and hosed the back which is like a dessert, especially under the trees at the back. Noticed this plant growing in the untended area where Tina does the burning, there are a few, no leaves so the orange really caught my eye!
Going to watch Van Der Valk tonight, will watch it with Darren and Tina, less electricity all watching the same tv!

  1. That’s a very nice sky. I like the mottled effect. Looks ok from ground level too.
It’s always nice to have a lottery win, specially if you only do it rarely. Give it a few more weeks then try again. Maybe it’ll be the jackpot next!
It was good you got to the church for Judi’s talk. I know you get on well with her and you’ll miss her when she goes.
You are a bit of a boozer. Never heard of liqueur in milk before. Can’t imagine that. Nice bottle though.
Think you’ll need more than a few cans if the weather keeps on ad it is. It’ll be a nightmare for you to keep the plants going if there’s a hosepipe ban your way.
Enjoy Van Der Valk. You should get them to watch it with you. Your tv is smaller and cheaper to run 😊

  2. No rain forecast for at least a week and super high temperatures as well. May have to give up and let things die!
The program was good, a really different role for Marc Warren and I think he is great.
Cream liqueur is liqueur with cream so not that much different with milk!

  3. That hadn’t occurred to me about the cream liqueur. Doh!
