Yesterday evening I painted the little pebble toadstools I made a while ago, in readiness for them to go in the fairy garden.
This morning I went out and about with Tina for a bit to take pictures for the parish profile that she is getting ready. We went to the church.
There is a small statue of Mary above the main door and Tina thought it would be nice to have a close up of her. Luckily I took the camera with a longer zoom.
Then we went to Holy Apostles to get a good shot of the lovely chapel there.
I also took some of the local streets and areas the parish covers. We drove back round by the sea and there were yachts far out, again, lucky I had the camera with the longer zoom.
When we were on Newland Avenue on Thursday we saw some knitted birds in the window of a wool shop, but they has sold out of the pattern book. There were also dragons knitted with the tinsel yarn that I have made hedgehogs and owls with in the past. Tina was really taken with them. Yesterday we were looking for bird patterns and the dragons came up as well, Tina ordered both for me. She obviously thinks I need to fill my time a bit more productively!!
The dragons are part tinsel yarn and part double knitting, I have started one, although not in the colours on the sheet, I did have some of that yarn left. I will need to get bendy straws to fix in the wings. If he/she gets finished I will post a picture. There are all sorts in the bird book, seagulls and Canada geese may be on my 'to do' list!
The toadstools are really cute, and very fairy gardenish. What are you making next?
ReplyDeleteBet you felt like David Bailey yesterday, bein chauffeured around to take pictures? Is this a printed profile or an online thing? It's always nice to get your pics into something printed.
Love the little dragon, he's very cute :-)
No plans for garden making, although will try to think of more bits that I can actually make rather than buy. Tina has done a draft print off of the profile, but in black white at the moment. Have knitted the body/tail of the dragon, but a long, long way to go!
ReplyDeleteLove the knitted bird, I have a friend who knits all sorts of birds and animals they look quite real and make lovely displays. Your photos are good as usual. I'm sure the little fairy toadstools will look prety x
ReplyDeleteTrying the dragon at the moment, but will be attempting a bird eventually. xxx
