This morning I went out to do a bit of clearing in the back garden. It was getting well overgrown, but the back garden is a bit difficult for me to do as it involves getting onto the wall.
The sea holly in the pot is all turning purple now, and very attractive leaves as well.
I pulled up quite a lot of the invasive plants, although they can be pretty they do tend to choke the ones you actually plant. I have a way to go but it is a bit clearer  now.
Charlie came out to investigate. He goes out regularly now and does come home!
Then I spent quite a while removing leaves from the willow, which is under serious attack from something. Reached what I could and sprayed it again. Got two small bags of leaves and thin branches I removed.
Darren and I went and had a bit of lunch and then he took me to Aldi to do some shopping. Rested for a while before this afternoon as I was tired and achy. But then I hunted out the bright polycotton fabrics I ordered a while back and started trying to plan a fairly simple quilt to make from them. My simple idea didn't seem that simple when I was doing the design.

  1. For a smallish garden it's pretty hard work on the slope and the walls. What you really need is the assistance of a big strong man, who was probably sitting in the shed watching you climb up and down :-) I like the sea holly, it's quite pretty. It would make a good subject to draw onto ceramic. On a plate or a vase.
The willow leaves do look very manky, I hope it survives the onslaught!
The new quilt will definitely be bright and colourful with those materials. I zoomed in on your pattern, and it does look a bit more complicated than a 'standard' quilt. You never make it easy :-)

  2. It will be a dazzler I think, cutting out now! The sea holly would be quite difficult to draw, may give it a go!
