One sky picture from last night.
This morning I got the quilt pieces sewn together before I set off for town to get backing material and wadding.
I went to town, very achy today so was pleased to see people at the bus stop! Got everything I needed at the sewing centre and made myself a hair appointment at the hairdressers next door. Walked to York Place and there was a bus waiting there, definitely my lucky day! I was half hearted about going swimming but Darren was kind enough to drive me up there so I went along for the 'Young at Heart' session. When I was walking back I decided to go up the hill and walk down to the park via a different route. I have never walked up to the mini golf although I have seen the signs, a pleasant walk down.
Then a different view of the lake and willows at the start of the glen.
The amazing triffid begonia that I bought as a bulb a few weeks ago, has now got a gorgeous flower, that looked as if it was going to be while when it was forming, it isn't!
I have been backing the quilt and doing the actual quilting through the layers. I won't show a picture of it and the backing material until it is finished.
The aerial is looking good, as usual.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. Not the easiest of things to feed through the sewing machine, but it'll be well worth the effort. It's certainly very colourful. Think I'd go for red for the backing, but I don't usually have a clue, so I'll wait and see the finished result.
A bit of exploring in the park. I'd have thought by now you'd have done all of the different possible routes through and around it. Looks like a totally different place from those photos.
Yes, very photogenic aerial that one!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is pretty big, just right for a child's bed, getting on with it now.
The glen does look different from up there, the mini golf looks good too.
