Last night I got the coloured pencils out as I had bought a book and wanted to make a drawing of the subject of that book. Not naming him, am hoping it is fairly obvious who it is!

Colonel seemed really unwell this morning so I went with Tina to the open surgery. He has lost weight and looked a very unhappy cat, the vet kept him in for the day to give him medication and get him hydrated. He is home now and looking a bit happier. I was going to go swimming, but the ankle is really painful and it is very hot, so didn't really fancy the walk back afterwards, although Tina would have taken me on her way out. Sandy came for me at about 11.30 am, she had a few errands to do before we went to lunch and then to get curtains for her front room. We went to Irton Garden Centre, we sat outside as the heat was unbearable inside. We sat in shade but had a nice display of plants in front of us.
We had lovely ploughman's and a drink of water, followed by lattes and we shared a cake, so we started well! Tried a selfie!!
Then we went to Boyes and after quite a bit of discussion and searching Sandy found curtains she was happy with, bought a new rail and some nets, so is well set up now to get her front room as she wants it. It was stiflingly hot in the car when we left, as we got near town we decided to go for an ice cream. We parked in the car park near the front and walked over to where the North Bay trains run from. Sandy has lived in Scarborough for 21 years and has never been on the train, or even seen it! So, you guessed it, ice creams bought and we got return tickets to take the train!

The sea and sky looked stunning as we arrived near the Sea Life Centre.
The guard was very friendly and even let Sandy wear his hat for a photo!
Another passenger took a photo of the two of us, like a pair of big kids really!!
Then the engine backing up for the return journey.
Still stiflingly hot, up here particularly, Tina sorted me out a fan which she had in the office, which is helping.

  1. I know who it is....... I know who it is.......
Well apart from a bit of a bad start with Colonel, which luckily seems to have turned out OK, you've had a pretty nice day. Girly luncheons and shopping trips, followed by ice cream and trains, what more could you ask for? A friendly guard too. He might have let you wear his hat, but I bet he didn't let you blow his whistle :-)

  2. It did turn out to be very pleasant, although I am hoping it doesn't get too much hotter tomorrow. Never satisfied are we?
