I actually did email 'Newswatch' yesterday afternoon, that is a first. I dd feel strongly about the lack of recognition of the wheelchair winners at Wimbledon after the centre court wins. I think I may not have been the only one as the news this morning was saying that there were four British winners at Wimbledon yesterday! Great sky again yesterday, not brilliant colours but pretty dramatic.

That second one looks like a dogs head to me!! This morning it was raining so Tina took me to the pool which was good. I did have a swim and then walked back through the park. Loving the willows as I went by the entrance to the glen.
My willow in the garden is not looking happy, I have sprayed it twice now trying to control the aphid attack. As I was leaving the park I was interested in the stain on this tree. Looked like something had seeped out, but very dark.
This afternoon Tina brought home a mass of donated flowers that were looking well past their sell by date, in fact they had been massively reduced before being given away. I put them in a bowl of water to let them have a good drink for a while before I put them in containers.
The red ones were looking particularly droopy. They are now in three vases, all of which I have made or decorated which is nice!

I think the gladioli will be fine and the others have perked up quite well. I have had an afternoon in doing a few chores, not feeling over motivated to do anything constructive this evening. No tennis to watch now either!

  1. Glad you emailed them. Better out than in, as they say. I bet a lot of people picked up on it, so I'm sure they will have had lots of complaints. As you know, my day was also about saying what you think. It does make you feel better.
The cloud definitely looks like a dog, I'd already thought that before I read your comment.
The tree with the leak is odd. I can't imagine it's sap, so it must be dirty coloured water. Maybe it's started to rot internally and the water is getting in above it. I don't remember seeing it before, and it definitely stands out.
The flowers aren't bad for freebies. Even if you only get a couple of days out of them. It's amazing the stuff that gets thrown out!

  2. Glad it looked like a dog to you too! I hadn't noticed the tree before, but I often walk along the lower path where it isn't so obvious.
Yes, should get a bit of life from the flowers now.
