We had a simple breakfast here this morning and then we went to The Mere, where I sat on a bench and did a puzzle and Mike took a couple of turns round the lake. It was dull and quite grey when we arrived, the sun broke out for a while and what a difference it made from where I was sitting!

We were there before ten, and it was quiet and very peaceful.
The sprinkler was turned on in the lake so thought this made a good picture.

We had a drink and sausage sandwich before we left, I asked to use their loo, he told me there was no light and I said that was okay (no window in there), he didn't tell me there was no loo roll and you couldn't lock the door from the inside!! But needs must as they say, no one barged in...We went to Dean's and just had a drink, as a scone was not a good idea after the sandwich. I got an indoor plant for sandy who is recovering from her replacement knee operation and some plants, copper tape and grit sand so that I could get on with the fairy garden. It was getting on for 1 pm when we got back, so Mike got his stuff together and set off for home. I walked up to Sandy's, had a cup of tea with her and a natter and then took a slow walk into town. Bought a few bits and then caught the bus home. Then out into the garden to plant up the garden and apply the copper tape, now we will see how many plants are left tomorrow, maybe all of them and the slugs and snails won't find a way it! The foot has held up pretty well, but am staying off it now for the rest of the evening.

  1. Can't believe the sky changed so much in the amount of time we were at the mere. Very good example of before and after. And there was me thinking you were doing puzzles as I walked around :-)
The fairy garden is looking really good. I hope the anti slug measures work!
It was a very nice couple of days, which I really enjoyed. Thanks.
