Success! Yesterday the physio said I should go back to the doctor to see about getting different pain killers. I called in This morning and the next general appointment was on the 20th July. She asked if it was more urgent than that, and I said it had been on going to over seven months now but I was told to come back by the physio, but I suppose not really urgent. Said she would see if they had any cancellations and I have an appointment tomorrow. Result! Tina dropped me off in town, as I had a couple of bits to get and she wanted me to get some grapes for the Not Home Alone leaving get together for Martyn and Joyce. The shop I was going to buy them at was closed, so I went to M & S. they had a half price sale so ended up buying myself a top while I was there. I came home to get changed and ready to go to the 'do' with Tina. Took a photo of the tamarix in the tub in the front garden, well, more accurately the part of it where I had to lop one of the branches to remove it from under the shed when it landed on it! I sealed the wound and now it is sprouting very healthily, perhaps I will have a beautiful tamarix, full of flower, next May.
The lunch for Joyce and Martyn was very enjoyable, good company and a very nice spread. It was interesting listening to Martyn answer questions about his time as a minister. Gail had done a beautiful flower arrangement for Joyce.
Gail also lent me a 'presentation cracker' that she had bought so that I could perhaps make some that would be similar. Not sure that I will, but it is very lovely.
Have been watching some tennis and having a generally lazy time since I got home!
Hopefully those hopefully the doc will give you some 'strong' pills. At least they're going to see you reasonably quick. I think having to wait until the 20th is ridiculous! Maybe I'm just lucky with mine.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a presentation cracker. You learn something new every day. It's very pretty, but also looks very fiddly to make. I'm sure you'll give it a try, at least once :-)
One of these days you'll have some luck with tamarix :-)
I live in hope with the tamarix, and for getting pills that don't disagree with me! Fingers crossed. As to the cracker, maybe......
