Pretty nice sky again last night, and the aerial is still looking good!
I really upped the exercises yesterday, it hurts to do them, and today my ankle was really bad, so may give that idea a bit of a rest.I had a parcel to collect in town so Tina dropped me off on her way to church. I did what I needed to do and then went to the bus stop to get a ride home. It went the long way, but it is a nice journey and easier on the feet! I was feeling really low, so asked Darren if he would take me to the bus stop so that I could sit by the mere for a bit. He decided to drive me there and had a cup of tea with me before he went home I got a couple of bags of bird food, and was absolutely mobbed, don't think too many people have been feeding them of late!
They were even mopping up around my feet when I was out of supplies!
Sorry mate, no more!
When I have been before I have wondered what the red 'wheels' were in the centre of the mere. Now I know, they were turning today and obviously keep the water moving and stopping it stagnating in weather like this!
Just a picture of a swan that had just gone by the spray, no real reason.
I didn't walk round the lake, found a bench in the shade and did a couple of puzzles. Nice views of the lake, bottoms up!
A couple of nice shots.

One last shot before I left.
I caught a bus back into town, and then another one from town to here. It has remained hot and the storm hasn't arrived, here's hoping!!

  1. One day they'll get a satellite dish and take that aerial down. Would look odd without it now!
Glad you made it to the mere. It's a lovely place, which shows in your pictures. I would have thought the birds would have had more food than usual lately with the nice weather. Should have been more families with kids out for a walk. Can kids these days still walk? :-) The paddles make sense now, they always were a puzzle. I would think they aerate the water too to stop the fish suffocating in this weather. Another enigma sorted!

  3. You captured some really good shots, you should enter the Country File Calender photo competition. Lovely to have a place to lift your mood, being in constant pain gets you down. Great you have Darren and Tina on hand. Cooler today so hope that's helps. Xx
