This morning I caught the bus into town again, really still don't feel inclined to do too much walking, the ankle is still giving me trouble. I got a couple of books in the sale in The Works and then went to the hairdressers, was a bit early but had my puzzle book with me. Just had a cut and blow dry today, well, dried off anyway. The manager cut my hair today and I am very pleased with it again. I will have a bit of colour again next time. I called in at the studio to see Sandy then, she is on her own today. She wants me to go and help her pick some new curtains some time next week, which will be good. She is getting a lot of decorating done and wants to get the house on the market later this year, but next Saturday she is having her knee replaced, so it will be autumn/winter before she starts the process I think. Lovely sunny day today, but you will be surprised to hear that it is also quite windy. I cut through to the cliff top to look at the bay on my way home. Beautifully clear.
And a speedboat leaving it's mark!
Darren and Tina are out for the day so I decided to go and have lunch at the North Bay cafe. Have been there for breakfast a few times and even a couple of Sunday lunches, but never on my own, but very pleasant staff and they have great music playing! Did a few chores when I got in and then found the pot stand that Tina had bought for me some time ago from Ikea. The screws were a bit of a so and so to get in, but it is now assembled and outside. Temporary plants on there for now.
Last night I layered and quilted the quilt and made the binding and got it attached, but knew I had about three hours hand sewing to do today to finish it off. I got half way round this morning and have finished it and got it ironed this afternoon. It is quite big, and I am thinking of donating it to a children's charity.
I was going to have a plain backing but found a material with letters and numbers on, did use plain material for the binding though, think it is jazzy enough!!
Feeling lazy this evening, so not a lot planned, Casualty later.
You've got a lot done today, again! I don't think I've actually achieved anything today, so you definitely put me to shame. In fact you do most days!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had some nice sunny weather today. It's been a bit overcast here, but very warm.
The quilt is fantastic! It's also huge. All things considered you got that done and dusted in quick time. A charity somewhere is going to be very grateful for that.
I think you're allowed to feel lazy this evening.
I am pleased with the result and didn't really get started until Wednesday evening I think!
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely out today, and for once the wind was welcome as it kept the heat down.
I also think the quilt is fantastic ! Someone will be very pleased with it.
ReplyDeleteThe plant stand looks good, once the plants start to cover some of the frame it will look softer. Lovely weather for a few days like you we had the breeze but was needed. The bay looks very inviting with the blue water. Take it easy xx
Thanks Hazel, bit more cloud today but still very warm. xx
