Yesterday evening I wrapped Christmas presents and began writing my Christmas cards. Also wrote a couple of letters to put in with cards. This morning was a stay at home time as we were expecting the storage cupboard to be collected at some point. Tina and I both had washing that needed doing, so I saw to that and got it onto driers and I put the marzipan layer onto the four cakes that I am making and decorating this year. Then I wrote the rest of the cards and wrapped a package. Tina came in at lunch time and was going out again just before 2 pm. The storage cupboard was collected just as she was getting ready to leave so she gave me a lift into town with the cards and package. I had been deciding whether to walk or cycle but that made my mind up for me! I was ages in the queue at the post office and ended up parting with over £40, I have got some spare stamps though. Three of the cards I bought were actually too large to go with an ordinary stamp, I have a gadget and can check but I bet some people are caught out. I had a voucher my sister had sent me for a jewellers in town and went to have a look, ended up getting myself a pair of earrings that were on sale and very pretty. I can never have too many earrings! I took a stroll down to the south bay as I haven't been along there for a while. The colour and light of the sky were very clear and bright.
Took this picture of the sky through the trees.
The sky began to get quite striking and it was only just after 3 pm.
.
Took this picture of the remembrance bench with the bay in the background. I really like this bench.
Walking back I was nearing the shop as we needed milk and eggs and I missed a call from Tina. Tried to call her back but got the answer phone. I was just going to the till when she appeared in the shop, so I got a lift some of the way home as well! Having a rest now then will get dinner for us all in a bit.

  1. A busy day by the sounds of it. I think you keep the Royal Mail afloat with the amount you spend in there :-)
Good set of pictures today, very atmospheric. I particularly like the bench with the trees and bay.

    1. I like that one too. It did look beautiful there today. Stamps cost more than cards these days!!

  2. I also love the seat picture best, your doing very well with the photographs.
As for the cost of postage I tell myself each time .... Oh well I could not travel there for that amount. I feel it eases the pain of spending so much. Xx
