This morning was bright if a bit windy so decided to go out on the bike. I worked out a route mostly away from the main roads to the Proudfoot shop in Newby. Not a long trip but all on the roads this time and I am getting more used to the gears now. This was one of the views on the way there.
And the park from Peasholm Drive on the way home.
Last night I put the brooches onto individual cards and made a few more cake case decorations, so should have a colourful stall with quite a lot of variety.
Tina and I went into town at lunchtime, we ended up getting some presents, Christmas jumpers and a great tree that is in an umbrella and has snow falling on it (polystyrene balls really!) Here we are with the tree, liking the self timer!
A better one of the tree, you cannot really see that it is snowing in there! It is musical too, Colonel is not keen on it!
My jumper says 'Hands off my puds' and I have been forbidden to wear it tomorrow! This afternoon I have made two attempts at making mince pies for the bazaar, both of which have been somewhat dismal failures. I will blame the oven, the wrong tins and the ready to roll pastry, obviously nothing to do with the cook!! We will buy some on the way tomorrow, Darren will enjoy the less than perfect ones, just as well because the are numerous. This evening Santa went up the road on his sleigh, causing chaos with cars having to back out of his way in the dark in this very narrow road.
You're getting some great new views on your cycling trips. You'll be even more spoiled in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure Darren doesn't mind eating the reject mince pies. It's a hard job, but someone has to do it!
How long before Colonel upturns the brolly?
The jumper is great :-) You really should wear it tomorrow, it'd raise a few eyebrows! (Sorry Vicarage)
I will try to be good, I have got a Santa hat with bells on!!
