It is raining hard this afternoon, but it was dry first thing, I got the meat into the oven and walked up to the Christmas day service at church. Tina was preaching today and it was very good as usual, today she involved several children in the talk. A good number at the service, but when Darren and I went to the midnight service the church was packed. We had had a nice dinner and then linked up via Skype with Lee and the family in America. A few hitches with the sound to start with but we got there!
I have had several lovely presents but the most unusual must be the bottle. When Sandra handed it to me and said she saw it and thought of me, I could not imagine how seeing a bottle of any sort would bring me to mind. When I opened it today it was obvious!
Brilliant!! Mike also got me a funky pair of bike earrings which are the right sort of shape for my bike, very unusual!
They are fun aren't they? Darren and Tina put one of the monochrome photos from their cruise in a really lovely frame for me, so a bit of re-arranging so that it is properly displayed.
I got dinner sorted after church and we had a nice meal together and this afternoon we have watched 'Brave' and 'Stick Man', so very high brow!! Then Tina opened her birthday cards and presents and liked her equally high brown cake!
A caterpillar! I thin I mentioned the large boneless turkey breast I humped back from the butchers. Well, we got the bathroom scales down to weigh it and it is about three and a half kilos, that was some turkey!!
Strictly and Call the Midwife tonight, got a lovely soft throw from Lee so on the settee and snuggled up for the evening. Forgot to mention that we talked to and saw the American part of the family on Skype, so a lovely day.

  1. A pretty good day from the sounds of it, and nice to see the clan in America for you too. Love the bottle, a really nice gift. With the picture too you definitely have a bit of rearranging to do!
Hell of a turkey crown, you'll be eating it for days! Sandwiches, curry, turkey and gammon pie, plenty for all!
Like the pic of Tina and her cake :-)
