This morning Darren and I left home about 8.45 am to make the trip down to Peterborough to visit family and deliver cakes. We had a stop at Caenby Corner after we had gone across the Humber Bridge, which is one of my very favourite places.
After that we were behind a lorry advertising that Hull will be City of Culture in 2017. I hope this gets Hull the good publicity it deserves, because I for one think it is a great place and cannot understand the negative publicity it gets.
We had a really good journey down and met Mike at Sainsbury's and had lunch with him. Then I delivered some gifts and we made our way to make a brief surprise visit to the two 95 year old ladies that  I used to see every week. Took them both a chunk of Christmas cake. They were both in good spirits, I will hopefully see them for a longer visit in the new year.  We are now relaxing at the hotel and will be off to meet Anya and family for dinner a bit later. Then that cake will be delivered and we will see my sister and niece tomorrow.

  1. It is a nice bridge, I always look forward to seeing it.
It was good to see you both, and thanks for lunch.
Have a good evening, and a good trip back up north.
